Sammy D

These days, Sammy enjoys hanging out in his crib, watching his mobile, as well as checking himself out in his mirror. Happy boy!

This is not the most action-packed video, but Sammy's pretty darn sweet- cooing at himself in the mirror:

True Confessions

We own a minivan. Ok, that's actually not even the confession; here it is: I love it!

Ok, so I admit that I went kicking and screaming into the Toyota dealership. Meanwhile, Brian gently took my hand and convinced me that we were, "just going for a test drive." About an hour later we were pulling out onto the road in a 2006 Sienna. Yup, just a test alright....I was convinced that I would immediately have to dye my hair pink or blue just to counter the dramatic hit I had just taken to my already practically non-existent aura of cool.

Obviously, I've come around and my hair is still just dark blonde and needing a washing. There is hope for all you doubters: click below for a perfect example of my new impression of me as a minivan owner (minus the dual dvd players, of course!):

Asheboro Zoo

Yesterday was so beautiful here in NC that we just had to have a family adventure outside. Thus, we decided to head up to the Asheboro Zoo for the day. It's such an amazing place: large open spaces for groups of animals to live and graze, a wide variety of animals and plants to see, long trails to hike between each attraction.

Gosh- what a day! Guthrie was in full effect: exclaiming with glee at each new animal, blowing kisses, asking for "more more, more more" after leaving each habitat. Sammy enjoyed hanging out on Brian's chest in the carrier and slept peacefully much of the time we were there (he'll really enjoy a visit next year!).

During our visit Guthrie had his first taste of a hotdog! Yum yum. Of course he liked it.

We started and ended the day with me feeding Sammy in the car while Bri and Guthrie playing in a small wooded area at the end of the parking lot. G had so much fun collecting and stacking sticks. It's so fun to watch him enjoy the simple pleasures of being outside.

Caught being good

The other day it was at once strangely quiet. I crept around the corner to find Guthrie sweetly reading while sitting on his little train. What a guy!

Lounging Sammy

Guthrie burrito in the snow

You may remember an earlier version of the tasty Guthrie burrito, well it returned in a winterized form last night. Bri decided to wrap Guthrie up just before bedtime to go outside and check out the snow. Wow- snow twice in one year!

Evidently...

Guthrie's pants he was wearing yesterday were a bit too big. But that didn't get in the way of playing with some of his new Valentine's Day goodies from school!

First meeting

Here's a video of G & Sammy's first meeting, just after we came home from the hospital. Sweet guys!

Gosh, one month already?!!!

Man, it's so hard to believe that little Sammy is one month old today! Wow, the time flew. We're so enjoying getting to know Sammy more and more, and love observing the sweetness of brothers interacting.

Some fun Sammy traits: his little hands are often held in loose fists with his thumb tucked under his pointer finger. Sammy is a cuddly one and loves sleeping on our chest with his legs tucked tightly beneath him. Little Sammers is quite the resilient one as he has yet to make even a peep while Guthrie "loves" on him by: doing giant, squishing full-body hugs; not so gently poking at his face naming parts, and other various gestures.

We love you sweet boy!

ps- for some reason, blogger is uploading photos on our edit screen as text, so I can't tell which picture is what while writing. Thus, I can't provide much commentary for each picture when there's a lot.
