Guthrie had his 2 month check up this past Friday. He was a trooper for his first round of shots; mama, on the other hand, oh yea I was a total mess. Mr. Gus weighed in at a healthy 15 1/2 lbs and 24 1/2" long.
Here he is with some yummy things he's found around the house- no wonder he's chunking up so nicely.
It took him a couple of days to finish up this guy- a little more filling with it's caramel center.
UmmmmmmmmmmMMmmm. Rings.

Yoga baby?
I caught Guthrie sleeping like this the other day- he looked so cute with his feet all crossed almost as if he was in some kind of yoga position. He's working on his flexiblility.
Today he was sleeping like this, as if he was blocking the sun or something. Brian and I can't help ourselves from making some stupid anecdotes up about what he's thinking.

Silly girl
That's me, silly girl. It's because I often find myself looking at the pictures on Guthrie's blog (at least 2 times a day), when I can just look at him in my arms or in his crib or on the floor playing. I guess I just can't get enough of the cute little guy! Sometimes I find myself missing him while he's sleeping or in the bouncy chair while I'm eating- it makes me sad that much of our family and some friends aren't close by to experience him every day. I'm totally spoiled and incredibly thankful that Brian and I have been able to work it out for me to be at home with Guthrie on a daily basis. To quote Helen Hunt in "Raising Arizona," I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!

Happy two month (+ one day) birthday!
Guthrie, aka Gus, Guthers, sweet boy, bottom blue, Buddy, absolutely flabulous (just kidding on that one!) was 2 months old yesterday- hard to believe. He's such a little sweet guy and is changing by the day. He coos and rasps a lot and has become more and more alert and aware of his surroundings. Check out this strong guy holding his head up! Mom and Dad love you so much!
Whew. It's hard being 2 months old...

Do the specs cover that?
I've recently thought that Guthrie was a man-child, considering how fast he's growing, but it turns out that his pop is the real one. Brian was saying that he often wants to crawl in Guthrie's crib when he's in there being cute. So today Bri just decided to go ahead and jump right in! Awwww. Two cute boys.
By the way- the crib held up well (but Brian somehow did get his head stuck between the rungs).

Another walk in the woods
There's a great park close by that we try to get to at least once a week. I like to throw Guthrie in the baby carrier and take a hike. Even though Guthrie may be a little bit small/young (but geez his neck is strong) to be facing outward in the carrier, I like to do it anyway so he can see all the trees and sites in the woods. Little Gus really seems to respond to all the sounds- his legs kicking wildly until he inevidably falls asleep. These were taken last Saturday, just after we got through with our walk. Instead of following some trail, we were actually following Brian along a great disc golf course. As you can see, Guthrie was blown away by Bri's amazing disc skills.
Hooray Dad!

Gordon, you're the best!
Guthrie has recently become very vocal- especially in the morning and late evening. We're really enjoying this new development and talk with him often.
This is Gordon the lion (aptly "named" by Guthrie because he likes to make guh sounds when looking at him).
Gordon hangs above the place where we often change Guthrie and our little guy just can't seem to get enough of him! Even if Guthrie's cranky when we put him down to change, he instantly starts cooing and smiling at Gordon. I think he may be telling him his deepest secrets...Eyes only for Gordon!
I love you Gordon!

Yesterday our good friends Mike and Carrie welcomed their son Colin into the world at 1:45! We are so excited to meet this sweet little/big guy (he weighed 8lbs, 10oz- you go Carrie!) and can't wait until he and Guthrie are big enough to play together!
