Smiles for mom and dad

Bri and I had some fun today with some cute reactions from little Gus. We can't wait for him to consistently smile back at us. He's been giving us the occasional smile, but today he gave us a sweet series of open mouth smiles directed right at us! Of course we didn't catch the best ones on the camera.

Gus has also recently started periodically laughing in his sleep- it's super hilarious and we can't help but wonder what he's dreaming about.

He's such a great-looking little chunk, and I mean that in the nicest, mommy-who's-been-there sort of way. I'm squeezing my youngest every day, dreading the day she loses the baby fat. Gus is gonna be nice and squishy right before he starts rolling and scooting around.

Thanks Jeannie. It's funny- concerning you squeezing your little one: last night we were just looking at some pictures from a month ago, exclaiming how little Guthrie looked and how much he's already changed! I'm sure that aspect of change gets harder and harder as the days go by (and more and more exciting as they discover new things and start to talk, crawl, smile, etc.)!

Exciting is certainly a good word for the crawling and walking times. Watch everything breakable and potentially dangerous you own move up above waist level really quickly. Suddenly you get really busy, but it's pretty fun too. And funny--sometimes they wake up in the middle of the night trying to stand or walk. Pretty weird.
